Educate all on benefits of 'Lockdown'
TV Ads etc to tell everyone that things are getting better (ie lower R value and fewer Covid 19 related hospital admissions and deaths) BECAUSE of lockdown ie less mixing means less spread of disease and that to ease lockdown would reverse the effect ie more speed of disease with more hospital admissions and deaths. Explain that we are all making sacrifices for the greater good and that these are relatively small compared to war time for example - we are all safe at home or working with social distancing and appropriate hygiene, with enough food and all sorts of ways to communicate with loved ones who are also safe at home, not off to war or evacuated etc. I appreciate people are not able to do or have everything they want, but doing without just now is in a very good cause!
Why the contribution is important
It would help compliance with lockdown for longer which would help reduce spread of disease, hospital admissions and deaths.

What we aren't hearing is any sensible discussion of how we untangle the lockdown and return to normality with the acceptance that for a period, until vaccines are ready, we will have a risk of infection and potentially death from this virus.
The only reason the UK are a successful country is because we have adapted, developed and prospered with hard work. Not by sitting at home.
We are predominantly having narrowly constrained discussions in the press about individuals that died as a shock tactic to keep us obedient.

Do agree people need to comply better though. Those who think they are above the rules are ruining it for those who are complying.

Only problem with the idea is that teh death rate & infection rate hasnt changed since the start of lockdown.
As for the R number, how can we measure it when we hardly test anyone ? As we test more people it will come down as less people are infected by it.
You need to look at confirmed cases & deaths & the rate of increase hasnt changed since the start of the lockdown.
