Effective treatment v vaccine

Is it desirable to focus on an effective treatment for COVID-19 rather than a vaccine. A treatment would help immediately, a vaccine is of no use to those in Intensive Care today. Indeed an effective treatment might even reduce the need for a vaccine.

Why the contribution is important

Effective treatment will help today.

I for one won’t be agreeing to take any vaccine ! Between Lockdown, wrist bands ,health passports and tracking apps ! Just about had enough Without adding a vaccine ( probably inadequately tested) into the mix ! I am old enough to remember the massive inaccuracies in trying to create a vaccine for HIV

Treatment with convalescent serum is an ethical option as risk is no more than a blood transfusion and should be trialled for serious infections and offered to those deemed critical particularly if a family member is known to have recovered and could be a donor
