The economy in Scotland is on its knees and for what? There will be many more deaths from Covid 19 and from those that are not receiving the medical care or treatment that they cannot access. The First Minister is wrong top continue the lockdown for everyone. She will be responsible for damaging Scotlands economy irreversibly and making many unemployed

    If you end up lockdown now, the country will very likely suffer even more economically due to a second, perhaps much worse wave. It could cripple the health service and nobody would have access to health care then at all.

    A valid point but maybe a couple if weeks away. Problem is Scotland is dominated by the public sector and understanding the impact on the economy is not a priority. How many have been furloughed or lost their job? We need a balance and a way forward not the same message week after week.

    As a doctor of public health following this closely, I can say that the latest research and science shows that covid19 has same mortality rate as bad flu which vast majority - up to 80% - with no symptoms.
    Fair enough we were cautious when we didn't have the data - now we do, and its time to move on.

    This constant repetition of a demand for the abrupt abandonment of lockdown is so spectacularly misinformed it's positively dangerous. (If it only affected themselves, I wouldn't mind so much.)

    And anyone who claims, against all current evidence, to be a doctor and that Covid-19 is just another "bad flu", is straining anyone's credulity to the absolute limit.

    Personally, I prefer to believe the genuine doctor, Dr. Anthony Fauci. Not "Dr." Trump. And even he doesn't believe Covid-19 just a "bad flu" any more.
