End school uniform?

Hello,

Just wondering if school uniform would have to be rethought? As is case in hospitals, Drs are not allowed to wear ties or overcoats. Children go to school every day with school tie and blazer which is not washed day after day. Would a more hygienic approach be to wear cotton tees that can be washed easily?

Why the contribution is important

I work in a school and I am a parent

I think in relation to school uniforms.
    1) leggings, trousers & polo shirts.
    2) easy to wash
    3) cheap as a lot of people will be struggling financially
    4) manufacturing of clothing has reduced dramatically so normal uniforms might not be available.

I think school uniform should be scrapped altogether which would allow more practical and affordable solutions for parents

School uniform is not enforceable in Scotland anyway so no need for this.

I see what you're saying but I don't think hospitals are comparable to schools.

Doctors no longer wear ties and lab coats because they move between patients, performing examinations and bedside tests/procedures. There is a theoretical risk of transmission of infection between patients, some of whom will be immunocompromised.

Not really applicable to school children.

🏫 could implement second hand uniforms more effectively but what does this really have to do with loosening restrictions?
