Face coverings

Please make face covering mandatory in taxis. Its a small enclosed space. Both, driver and passenger should wear a face mask to ensure safety. Front seat should be empty at all times, passengers should be allowed to seat only in the back seats.

Why the contribution is important

Taxi drivers ride with hundreds of passengers a week, giving that many jurneys are longer than 15 minutes, driver and passengers are within close proximity it greatly increases the risk of passing the virus from passenger to driver and from driver to passenger. There are tousands of taxi driver in Scotland, if most of them rides daily with 10-50 people it would cause a significant virus spread.

    Not just taxis but public transport and when shopping indoors. Not enough people taken this seriously at the moment from personal experience

    Can drivers get a screen erected between front and back seats? Like in black cabs? It can be temporary, perspex or even just clear plastic sheeting. Would give the driver's better protection than cloth masks alone?

    Just let the taxi driver decide, its thier taxi - you don't have to get in if you don't like the service offered
