Why the contribution is important

This would allow emotional support which is essential. I think it is becoming clearer that the benefits of physically seeing elderly parents and supporting them using the two metre social distancing far outweighs the longer term difficulties with social isolation and effects on mental health

    The problem with this idea is that ultimately everyone is linked to everyone else eg a couple with two families locally, which are in turn connected to the families of their partners and so in and so on. 😔

    Totally agree. While I understand the reasoning behind, it's so cruel keeping grandparents and elderly parents apart form their family.

    Yes. My elderly father lives an hour away. He really misses the grandchildren. I just want to go and meet in a park where we can stay apart. (Things to consider - using the toilet! My sister lives close by so that would be a solution for us).
