  Many fisheries are synidcated waters with no general public access and only the prior paid anglers can access either on their own or with a small select group of friends. Even public access waters don't encourage too many anglers- you need space & quiet to catch fish. It is also a very healthy activity both for your physical and mental well being.

  Fishing is a valuable source of relaxation and for the economy of Scotland.
  With the exception of the use of boats with more than single occupancy social distancing can be easily achieved and preferred by most anglers whether fishing in fresh or salt water. Can I encourage the government to remove the ban on fishing with the exception of the use of boats containing more than one person?

  Fishing is the sport where social distancing is the easiest to observe. Whether on a river with nobody else within shouting distance, on a loch-side bank, at a sea shore, or in a boat with just one person , anglers are no danger to themselves or others. It doesn't make sense to prevent this activity which is good for the health of mind and body and allows fisheries to get some business. It is hard for an angler to be deprived of this healthy sport while in lock-down watching news bulletins showing others flout the rules with barbecues, sun-bathing and general crowding in increasing numbers. Even if we go out for a walk we have to beware of joggers and some cyclists who breath heavily in our faces.
