Garden centres

Open garden centres with appropriate social distancing - as for supermarkets

Why the contribution is important

Mainly outdoors. Loads of space. Social distancing protocols easy to apply. Useful for folks stuck at home with their gardens.

Difficult to see why Garden Centres can't reopen with the same guidelines as supermarkets.

It is important to open garden centres at his time of year as many of os will be looking to buy plants for our gardens. Social distancing rules should be easy to maintain in most settings, especially outdoors

Support the growers and do not destroy their businesses too. Garden centres are perfectly able to implement social distancing. Gardening is good for people's well being as well. All this business is currently going to DIY stores.

Garden centres are no different from other retail outlets, social distancing measures could be introduced and enforced as is currently employed in supermarkets. Encouraging healthy, outdoor activities such as this contribute to the health and wellbeing of the individual, families and communities and should be actively encouraged.

Garden centre must surely open ASAP - essential to encouraging being out doors, plants, home gorwn food etc and for the bees.

Cant recall a garden centre that is any worse than a super market?

    Keep them closed non essential
You need a supermarket to eat and a pharmacy for medicine you do not need a plant or to go on a non essential journey putting people at risk to get a plant
