Hillwalking

Get hill walking going again once it is safe and infected numbers are very low. It can be done alone or with a few people as long as social distance is kept. Speak to clubs so member numbers don't exceed maybe 4 out together. Keep educating and reminding people of the risks involved around covid 19 and hill walking.

Why the contribution is important

Improves people's health and wellbeing. People spend money on outdoor gear.

Pre-lockdown hillwalking operated in my experience by meeting the social distancing guidelines in any case. There is plenty space available in contrast to the space available in parks and footpaths in built up areas where most outdoor enthusiasts are currently restricted to. It would significantly help the mental health of those feeling caged and claustrophobic.

Totally agree hillwalking is no more dangerous than walking for experienced people and lots of space .

Small groups to be encouraged for social interaction & physical/mental health benefits.

Although I appreciate my daily solo walks, nearly eight weeks on my own is getting tedious.

It seems ludicrous that I can talk to strangers on my walk but not meet up with a friend/friends outside with distancing.

Advise no car share to start of walk if travel to exercise is allowed in the future.
