Holiday homes

I wonder if this could be looked at to allow people to go from main residence to their holiday home as would be easy to do same as in main residence. More opportunities to take exercise and also work on these homes and maintain particularly if extension time time allowed out. Did not realise if honest until looking on this today there was a distance limit and sure others won’t either.

Why the contribution is important

Many people who have these homes use weekends to go there and walk and use for health reasons due to work life balance. Also personally purchased one 10 days prior to lockdown and concerned as cannot check on it and worry factor due to this.

My holiday home is also a business since we rent it out all year round. I am not advocating letting holiday makers back anytime soon but PLEASE let owners look after their properties by allowing us to travel to them. The bills keep rolling in but my insurance is already void for some risks and the property will be in increasing disrepair since it is looked after by me all year round. Surely I have a right to maintain my own property and protect it from damage? I do not understand where the risk is - what is the risk of driving a car to get there? And I can socially distance 100% at the holiday property - I cannot at home.

Properties need maintenance - travel should be allowed for this purpose.

Short visits for maintenance and home checks does not seem unreasonable - even if some conditions still need to be met re social distancing / length of stay etc.

Rubbish, this would be exploited, we've only been looked down for 6 weeks - amazing how properties can fall into disrepair so quickly !!

People should be allowed to use their own second homes once lockdown starts to ease as long as they are adhering to the social distancing. They pay for the home and need to be able to check the house is still in order and not falling into disrepair. Second home owners also contribute to the local economy alot of which is usually seasonal and as a shop owner I would like to see second home owners be able to return to the village. I do not agree with them letting their homes out etc but see no reason for them not to return to their own second homes.

Ability to check and Maintain holiday homes should be allowed provided thee is no impact on the local community. Our second home is also set up as an office. We should be able to work from there.
