Home made masks campaign

Introduce a national TV campaign with celebrity Scots endorsing how to make your face coverings at home and showing step by step methods on how to make a three layer mask.

Inform people of fabrics that can be used from clothing items such as jeans or canvas trousers for the outer layer and how to make an inner pocket and straps from a cotton pillow case or tshirt, where a folded kitchen paper towel is inserted before each use.

Why the contribution is important

Long term use of masks will be necessary to slow the spread of future waves and help the economy by getting people back to work when the worst is over.

A campaign would help reduce the feelings of helplessness, where people can become creative, which in turn helps with the emotional stress by doing practical tasks.

Saw gogglebox making a mask from a sock,. Cheap as chips, who doesn't have an odd sock they can don't need. I tried it yesterday and it worked ,not a great look though, but it was an old sock and I didn't spend any time on it. Who cares really if it's just for the bus/shop trip if you don't want to spend money buying, or your don't have time or will to make something better.

To do this cut the leg part of the sock to the width require, fold it half length ways and cut the edges to the fold but not all the way - this forms the ear loops. Pad the inside with cotton wool/kitchen paper disposable material. Wash the sock mask after use. Jobs a good-un.
