Home working tax break

During lockdown I have been working from home. I have not done this before but found I can complete 90% of my job role from home (computer programmer). The only exceptions being attending to physical devices.

It would be good if my employer could enjoy some form of tax break due to the fact that I do not need to attend the workplace (say for 90,% of the time) once lockdown is over. My own energy usage and internet/ computing facilities could be partly subsidised by this tax break.

I normally walk to work but thousands are commuting who may find they can stay at home.

Or we could go back to the rush hour transport model with hundreds of people sitting in a que one to a car to get to an office they never needed to be in.?

Why the contribution is important

It's something which has been talked about for 30 years but never really happened for one reason or another.

Save energy, get back hours of your life.
