House moves / Removal firms

At the moment no house removal firms are allowed to operate. As the movement of furniture and effects could, with a little ingenuity, be carried out with social distancing in place, and with the operatives wearing face masks and gloves, it would seem that this restriction could be lifted.
The numbers of people involved in the practicalities of a house move are not great so the risk of spreading the virus would be minimal.

Why the contribution is important

At the moment there are chains of families all waiting to move. Lifting this restriction would get removal firms back to work, solicitors and estate agents can complete the legalities and money can change hands and the housing market can resume.

Yes restart where it is safe to do so. Test all operators free of virus before being allowed into homes. Thoroughly disinfect every hose that has been emptied before allowing re occupancy.

Removal companies still operate in England
My family plan to move from Southampton to Edinburgh (once builders are allowed to finish houses)
We were thinking of using Scottish company but this restriction has made us have 2 nd thoughts
