increase capacity in care sector

families are putting themselves and loved ones at risk by picking up the cuts to social care support. prioritise increasing capacity within care sector so that this risk is reduced and the added pressure does not have a detrimental effect on unpaid carers, many of whom are already working in key working positions and having to juggle this with extra responsibilities.

Why the contribution is important

vulnerable individuals and their families are constantly at risk of increasing transmission risks due to shortages in the care sector. guidance has been to not visit elderly relatives, particularly those with underlying conditions however when care services have been slashed, many unpaid carers have had to increase their visits not reduce them.
