Job generation through hours reduction
It is becoming clear that we will loose many jobs as a result of the lockdown. An option to create more jobs would be to reduce full time hours to allow more people to do the existing jobs. This would cost more, however could be cheaper than massive benefit bills. Earning less would also be difficult, but it would be better than job cuts. It would also allow people to exercise more , which is great as obesity seems to be causing a lot of issues with covid.
Why the contribution is important
Allows the creation of more jobs.
