Keep golf courses closed

Golf courses have never been utilised so much since they've closed 1000s weekly using them for walks rather than the 100s playing golf. Keep people active, keep them walking.

Why the contribution is important

Walking keeps the community fit and healthy. Golf courses are a wonderful resource open to the many not the few.

We pay for the privilege to do so which in turn pays for the Greenkeeping staff,The Professional ,the starters, clubhouse staff, cleaners .
Government taxes and local council rates...
Unlike the dog walkers and cyclists.

Keeping a golf course just to use it for walkers, seems strange. I'm a walker, not a golfer. But I can confirm, at the local golf course, we coexist quite happily.

Golfing keeps the golfers fit and healthy and golfers pay for the upkeep of the course not the walkers!

In Germany if you wish to walk around their golf courses they charge you the same as they would a golfer playing a round of golf. I think the walker would disappear if they were asked for money. So it goes without saying they are happy for me to pay for the upkeep of a golf course that they can use for free. Get off the golf course

Yes 1000s of walkers and dogs and cyclists and kids with footballs and idiots on dirt bikes. Who are doing so much damage to playing surfaces which will take time effort and money to restore to the correct condition. There are green keepers and committees despairing all over the country just now.

Obviously open access for all is desirable at these times.
All people living near courses need somewhere to exercise, not just the few, and this allows for social distamcing.

We all want to get through this pandemic with as few casualities as possible.
Hold on a bit longer please.

Ridiculous suggestion. Golf courses all over the country are being badly damaged enough by morons during this lockdown without adding to it
