Highway Code recommends walking on the right side of the road, so you face oncoming traffic. Obviously walking on a footpath is different.

It is a simple thing to do but will help in social distancing now and in the future use of roads, paths, walking areas, queuing etc especially in busier areas.

should also apply to the pavement as well, don't walk in the middle everybody should walk on the left

More generally - introduce a proper one-way system for all pavements and public spaces.

As stated above pedestrians should walk on the RHS - so if suggestion was use RHS of road without a pavement or walk on the RHS pavement in direction of travel it makes sense
