Kitesurfing, Windsurfing and Surfing are already soically distantt

Watersports are, by their very nature, social distant. Participants stay a long way away from each other. The virus does not transmit in saltwater. There are fewer watersports injuries than those experienced by joggers, so their pressure on the NHS is less and they do not require rescuing - most coastguard alarms are from the public misunderstanding what 'in trouble' looks like.

Why the contribution is important

We are going to go absolutely crazy not being able to get on the water. The reasons for it being prevented in the first place were flimsy and its time to give us back that freedom. There is no reason to curtail it.

Surfing is excellent for mental and physical health in a time when both of these are affected immensely. It is not any more and is probably less dangerous than other sporting activities such as cycling.
