Let us move house please!

Please look at changing the legislation for moving house of an offer has already been accepted verbally/in writing. Particularly when it can be done with no physical contact with others.

Why the contribution is important

Many people are waiting to move house and their lives are on hold. It’s very stressful waiting with no idea when we can move.

I can't see why solicitors, mortgage lenders, surveyors, removal firms etc... can't get back to conveying work to allow house moves to go ahead. Moving isn't always a nice to have, quite often there are urgent reasons to move .

I agree, my granddaughter and her partner are desperate to move into the house they have bought together. Its a very anxious time as they are living in separate households with their parents. Everything is finalised , mortgage etc all arranged and the vendors are equally anxious to move into their new property.

Absolutely agree. This an additional and unnecessary source of unwelcome stress that could be easily rectified.

I agree with the above comments. We are ready to move - our conveyancing is complete; our entry date has been postponed already; we are moving our possessions into storage & our buyer's tenancy in their current property is coming to an end. We are all desperate & willing to go but the removal company can't move us. They have PPE equipment, we can facilitate social distancing with them but they are restricted by current BAR regulation under Scottish lock down restrictions. Surely this can now be rectified and would have a massive positive impact on individual well being & economy recovery

Essential for clarification as rules already allow for moving if entry date cannot be agreed. As we have now signed missives for July 1st, taking into account lockdown, sheilding. Scottish Government should fund any legal costs for causing breech of promise!
