I try to go to my supermarket when it is quite as I take a vulnerable person with me and to reduce contact with other shoppers try do my own weekly shop at the same time. However due to the law forbidding the sale of alcohol before 10am I have to go out again to complete my own shop when it is much busier and contact with other people greatly increased. Why not rescind the law until the end of lockdown.

Why the contribution is important

Greatly reduces amount of people in store at the same time.

    Seems sensible and practical.

I do agree with this proposal however would be concerned with the effect it might have on alcoholism. The lockdown already appears to be increasing the alcohol consumption of many people which may cause real problems in the long term.

Shops are also quieter in the evening so shopping later in the day would mean only one trip would be required so then the essential alcohol can be purchased with the main shopping.

I also agree, great idea. Feels like it is something which has been overlooked

Agree they are less busy in the evening but the vulnerable person I help has severe learning difficulties, epilepsy and autism and will not go out after tea. I appreciate he could have goods delivered but he has had to give up most of his daily routine due to lockdown and enjoys his weekly shop. Also though less busy late evening not quite early evening and very quiet early morning.
