Limited golf

I would endorse the ideas from the R and A for restarting golf but limited to 2 players well known to each other with non competitive match play keeping 2metres apart at all times and no use of clubhouse etc , also only playing on nearby local courses .

Why the contribution is important

Likely to be beneficial to mental and physical health to those able to participate without increasing the risk of virus spread

I would endorse this idea. Golf could even start initially in the first instance by allowing single players to play.

One of the few sports where safe social distancing is likely to be achievable.

    Good open air exercise

This could start with individuals playing alone , and on one nominated course once per week.

Benefits are mental health and would hopefully also renew commitment to other measures.

The R&A have produced sensible and easy guidelines which makes golf easy to manage in terms of distancing and hygiene.

Easy to social distance on the golf course and safer than food shopping!

Totally agree. Golf in particular is ideal for exercise while practicing social distancing. Ireland are allowing courses to open from 18th May with a set of restrictions that most golf courses had in place before the lockdown

Easy to maintain social distancing - no different to walking in that sense
    10 minute intervals
4 people in a group can easily keep social distancing guidelines in check
Starter staff can stay behind screens
Flags and rakes can remain untouched if needed
Clubhouses and pro shops remain closed to start with in first phase
Great exercise and good for mental health
Keeps the clubs active and restarts, albeit slowly, a huge section of our tourism economy
Part of our national and cultural identity

Unless there is scientific guidance that there is a statistically significant higher risk of playing in 3 or 4 balls compared to a 2-ball, when all golfers can sensibly socially distance, I would not arbitrarily limit to 2 balls.

Please reopen the Golf Courses. It is an exercise that is fully compliant with Govt guidelines - physical distancing and daily exercise.

Why is it Ok for our golf courses to be used by walkers and joggers but golfers are not allowed to use the golf course.
