Listen to UK government

UK government needs to lead on tackling Covid-19. The FM of Scotland needs to stop attempting to be seen to be different to the rest of the UK, we need a single strategy to tackle this disease across the UK. The FM needs to stop rushing out of Cobra meetings to make announcements ahead of our PM. This is both demeaning and likely to lead to a confused message. Please FM stop playing politics with this pandemic.

Why the contribution is important

We are a small island and need a single UK response to tackle this virus.

The FM is not playing politics with this pandemic - she is doing a great job and keeping the people of Scotland as well informed as she can. As to rushing out of Cobra meetings to make announcements ahead of the Prime Minister - I cannot say when I last saw the Prime Minister on TV announcing anything.

Completely disagree. The Westminster Govt. has repeatedly shown a disregard and contempt for Scotland throughout this crisis. Ignore everything they do and use the best plan for Scotland, thats the way we need to and should go forward.

I agree with this idea. The UK government and police have been very clear in their messaging. It's confusing when the scottish government and police try to convey a different message.

Totally agree. At the beginning I thought the FM was doing a great job under difficult circumstances, however at this time the Country needs one message / one voice for the good of the whole UK economy and she is now starting again with her own agenda which isn't helpful

Many companies are National working across the whole UK and the different messages make it very difficult for employers when communicating with their staff

Whilst a common voice with the UK Government is important, Scotland has its own unique challenges and seems a little later than England in showing a downward trend in reducing the ‘r’ value. There may be occasions when decisions taken in England may not be quite applicable to the Scottish context.

I'm assuming that this is the same uk govt that took weeks to react to the chinese outbreak, did not proceed with track & trace, or testing, and now has us up to No2 on the list of most world Covid deaths.

the UK government has made substantial mistakes in this pandemic and I do not trust them to improve. I am glad to be living in Scotland and support the First Minister in making the best decisions for Scotland in combination with Scottish parliament.

the English government is slightly different in its approach to most things, I feel its beginning to be motivated by big business and profiteering. you can see that in its Brexit position, its US trade deal. Which will be pushed through without public scrutiny, while we are all to busy complaining about the semantics of lockdown restrictions..
