Living apart together household

Hi , I think if you have a partner you do not live with and that partner lives in a different region to you then you should now be able to see them as if you were sharing household.

Why the contribution is important

Because of emotional and mental health needs in society . Being married is not the only legitimate form of mature relationship and it is feeling discriminatory at this point , while I understand the need for it before . Research suggests that 6 weeks is how long it takes for attachments to start to break and we are now at six weeks apart and need to reunite . Good for society to have happy relationships supported .

My partner lives approximately 78 miles away, prior to COVID-19 we lived between homes, one weekend at his one at mine, I totally agree with Nikki's comments. Both myself and my partner adhere to social distancing rules, both of us are working from our respective homes for now instead of place of work.

I agree. My boyfriend lives in England and we haven't been able to see each other since the lockdown started. I understand why a complete lockdown is/was necessary and we have been adhering to the rules. But it is certainly causing strains on our relationship. Several countries (including Belgium) is considering allowing a certain number of contacts outside your current household, I believe that we should try that and trust that people wouldn't abuse such an allowance (and meet up with more people than allowed).

This is the most important matter to me at this point in time - meeting my fiancé. She lives in England and I'm in Scotland, and not being able to drive to meet her for weeks is horrendous for my mental health.

What if you dont have a car and can only use public transport to make these somewhat distant trips?
