Local golf

Courses could open to golfers within 10 km radius of golf club under strict social distancing rules and recommendations of governing bodies. Benefits are safe social interaction with mental as well as physical.

Why the contribution is important

The distance limit can ease the worry of people coming from perceived hot spots although with strict social distancing this should not be a problem.

Numbers on golf course to be restricted and each group or individual play a number of holes before next group start.

This is a great idea as you can social distance in golf with no hassles

Golf can be played while keeping the 2m restrictions and to assist in the wellbeing of individuals by exercise and meeting other players for conversation in the great outdoors!.

No reason that I can see for not allowing golf. Members of the public are using golf courses for their daily exercise family walk and walking dogs yet members are not allowed to use them for recreation and exercise. Rules set out, social distancing, no touching flags allow 2 ball groups only etc there should be no issues.

Agree with GIN as I've been walking on Cawder golf course and feel if anything there may be little risk to playing golf with restrictions suggested. I've passed many cyclists and runners behaving as per usual and using the canal paths as a racing track. I have also read that the distancing measures should be increased for cyclists and runners due to additional risk of infection from these groups.
