Lockdown to remain

I think we are still 3 weeks away from any potential changes to lockdown.
This is all probably been said before but this is what I would like to see.

By end of May

A phased return to work programme where risks are analysed and those with least risk able to return to work with regulations in place
For example if you are a tradesperson carrying out work in private homes. Suitable PPE to be worn at all times.
Any office worker to have screens in place with additional hand sanitizer available on each desk and no shared canteen facilities.
Businesses that require close contact, Hair dressers etc, to have staff tested on a regular basis.
Shop workers, delivery agents, post office workers to be tested on a weekly basis.

Coming from a tourism lead town it is far too early to open pubs, restaurants etc as the influx of people that can’t travel will want a British holiday in our rural towns.
There must be messages sent to convey that although Scotland welcomes you in these times we are closed for business just now.
Anyone wanting to travel must first confirm they are virus free (even if this means paying for a test privately or meeting costs of government test so be it)

Schools to remain closed till September.

Open recycling centres with strict limits in place with hand sanatizers available.

Trade supply businesses will have to show what procedures are in place to protect employees and customers before they can open.

Non essential shops with strict customer limits

Family able to visit immediate family if no symptoms present but still 2m social distancing in place.

No group gatherings until 2021 so no concerts, theatre and sports.
Tv broadcasters need to work together and come up with short term deals to allow live sport to be played behind closed doors.

Finally Windy Wilson the online weather man to get this Scottish weather back to normal (wind and rain) to get everyone back indoors and into lockdown.
The same are just my views and I appreciate they may not be everyone’s or even viable

Why the contribution is important

To keep people safe and to stop the spread of the virus to rural communities that don’t have the infrastructure to cope.

Good ideas there and I would echo the sentiment regarding tourists. I love in the islands and we must keep the ferries/planes for essential travel and freight only even when lockdown is changed.

Generally in agreement to most of what has been proposed. My main addition to this is that businesses should be able to demonstrate that social distancing and safe working is possible before opening, possibly involving local Environmental Health to assess the business set up.

I agree that travel and tourism should be discouraged to protect the many rural communities that are do not yet have any covid 19 cases.

    Nonsense

    Definitely

Thoroughly agree - the only thing I would add is that as well as families being able to make contact if they are symptom free is to allow partners who live separately to also be able to meet provided they do not have any symptoms.
Oh - and I'm happy for the good weather to continue so I can get a good tan before our usual wet summer kicks in!

The lockdown should be lifted in its entirety. Lead bodies (for industry, transport, education, sport, recreation etc) should be empowered to produce the most appropriate guidelines for social distancing within their own sector. The Scottish Government should take an overarching view and avoid getting bogged down in detail. The 'new normal' will, by definition, dictate how we live our lives for the foreseeable future. In a liberal society, it is not reasonable for any government to dictate the terms of our existence.

Agree with most of your thoughts except for continued school closures following the summer break (mid August).

I agree with many points, however, bubble groups or small social gatherings limited to 2 or 3 people should be allowed as soon as possible (potentially this week or next). Minimal social interaction such as this will motivate people and help to maintain morale, good mental health etc. Another issue is partners living separately. For many who would (before lockdown) see partners daily or regularly, being apart like this will be causing huge issues - even some of the 'strongest' relationships may be weakening if there isn't a way forward or a way to allow people to at least have the choice to see their partner soon. It has been over six weeks and if this continues there will be lasting mental health issues as a result of this. Relationships that are irreparably damaged may result in a high number of relationships ending, divorces etc and that added mental stress at this time is unnecessary and dangerous. Relationship breakdown is a leading cause of suicide in Scotland (https://www.mentalhealth.org.uk/a-to-z/s/suicide) and unless action is taken, there is a risk of a 'Mental Health Pandemic' looming on the horizon. Even for those not in relationships, the ability to visit a friend and talk in person would boost morale and mental wellbeing considerably.

agree with much of this - hairdressers can;t do their job while maintaining distance though, and regular testing of them - the result would only be as good as the day it was done, their next client could infect them, and they could then pass it on. hate to say it but I think hair and beauty salons should be the last to reopen
