Main Contractors Payments to SME Sub Contractors

Payment of SME's by Main Contractors should be paid in line with the Main Contract on Council Projects.
Many Main Contractors are paid in 14days yet it is normal to pay sub-contractors in 45 to 60 days

This would ease cash flow and allow SME's to pay suppliers in line with normal 30 day terms without having to seek additional funding. If there is a return to work early June it could be August before sub-contractors are paid which is almost 5 months after lockdown.
