Maintain lockdown for the foreseeable future

Myself and my family would feel much safer if Scotland were to continue to work together and remain in lockdown, at least for another 3 weeks. After this, perhaps the “bubble theory” could be suitable. People could be encouraged to select a small group of 2 to 3 people for their family to communicate with in an outdoor environment whilst maintaining social distancing. This would allow people to visit extended family members whilst feeling secure they are minimising the risk they put on themselves and on others, as all families within the “social bubble” are still in isolation.

Why the contribution is important

I feel this is the safest way in which the Scottish people can begin to adjust to the new normal of social distancing whilst also beginning to rebuild our lives and to rebuild our society. It is important to our livelihoods and physical and mental wellbeing’s that we have the chance to socialise with extended family members and/or perhaps a close friend outside of our household. In a few weeks time, if the science permits, it would be nice to visit those outside of our household in an outdoor environment whilst abiding by the 2m social distancing rule. This approach would also prepare young children for returning to school, easing them into a new normal way of living though social distancing and also allowing young children to better understand how to social distance and what it really means. Overall, this approach can slowly urge Scotland into a safe yet higher quality of everyday living.

I agree, however 3 weeks is not even close to long enough. It should be a minimum of 6 months with no review of restrictions until the 6 months are up
