More consideration to people with mental health struggles who live alone

When all this happened I fell deep into darkness because I felt abandoned. As a person living alone and having no close friends or family I was now also forbidden to see even the few people I had started running with that had had such an important impact on my mental health. I wished I'd rather die from corona than live under a lockdown. I am however 'lucky' that this didn't happen last year. If it had done I don't think I would have been alive today. And part of this darkness I felt at the start of the lockdown was the fear for those who are not feeling better this year like I am. All the people who were put at risk to themselves and their mental health because they are now ordered to stay home alone. Please please let us see at least a few selected people. Please please can the police not order lonely people a long distance from others to go home, to just let them enjoy a bit of sunshine on the grass. It could save their lives.

Why the contribution is important

Saving lives.

Yes, it is hell for people with anxiety, depression and OCD. Especially for those without official diagnosis. No support, apart from voluntary organisations who at least try to help.
Watching others bending or completely ignoring the rules, hurts immensely.

Agreed. We are also in a situation of trying to manage mental health issues which I know would be eased if able to see family/a few close friends - while still observing the distancing rules.
I can’t see the difference with this, and queueing 2m apart for a supermarket/ pharmacy, only for people to get too close once inside, or passing people at 2m while on daily exercise, and even stopping to chat if you pass someone you know, again still observing distancing rules

A buddy system like what they did in New Zealand should be put in place for those living alone
