More information on the re opening of the hospitality industry
As the lockdown continues and it’s end no nearer in sight, I feel that we should be given more information about the opening of the hospitality industry ie. pubs and restaurants. The hospitality industry is a vast employer also to the student population. As a student employed in this industry it is becoming ever more worrying not knowing when pubs will reopen and if or when furlough will come to an end. As it stands at the moment I am furloughed but reading into articles (as I have no other information to go by) furlough is coming to an end soon and bars are not set to open until Christmas. I realise this is not all that important in the grand scheme of things but bar work is my job it’s where I’ve done my training, and some clarity on the plans for not only furlough but also the industry for the future.
Why the contribution is important
My idea is important as it will provide some clarity which the British government do not provide. It will give those employed in the hospitality sector possibly some peace of mind knowing that if it’s not opening back up soon that furlough will continue for them.

Gourmet takeaway should be encouraged, which could be delivered or pickups only.
The government can help individuals get own delivery insurance, because installing other delivery services is expensive. Government makes deal with insurance companies.

If pubs are forced to close for longer than other parts of country then a full financial package needs to be discussed now.
With out it many pubs will choose to close permanently in the coming weeks.
