Based on the guidelines which have been released on the Isle of Guernsey, my idea is that removal companies be allowed to operate to allow those who are stuck between a rock and hard place in terms of moving home. Removal companies could be allowed to operate if-
1. The household in question has not suffered from any Covid-19 symptoms in the previous 14 days.
2. All external and internal doors remain open to prevent workmen touching handles .
3. All packing is complete prior to removals attending.
4. The householder is not within the home when the workmen are removing boxes etc.

Why the contribution is important
I'm sure, like myself, many many people were caught out when lockdown was initiated and have been unable to complete a house sale or purchase due to removal companies shutting down. With safe measures put in place, it would allow the process to continue and ease the financial pressure on those who have been unable to sell their home and are potentially paying two mortgages indefinitely.
