National Entitlement Card - Travel

The department that deals with renewals of the NEC travel card is closed during Covid, if your card has expired during Covid there is no way to renew or even get the form to apply so what happens! I think there should be an extension put on travel cards for 6 months from the lock down date this means any that have expired after that date will stay valid until a set date in the future & which could also give enough time when rules are relaxed & forms can be submitted when department opens this also allows for processing the rush of renewals . These cards not only act as a Bus pass but a Library card, Leisure membership card & Young Scot card therefore are used by a wide range of ages & are issued for different health reasons including mental health which does not require compulsory self isolating so still allows necessary travel.

Why the contribution is important

These cards not only act as a Bus pass but a Library card, Leisure membership card & Young Scot card therefore are used by a wide range of ages & are issued for different health reasons including mental health which does not require compulsory self isolating & still allows necessary travel. Mental health is a big issue during covid even more so for people who already have issues with it therefore NEC cards are very important, although other services covered by card are not available at this time public transport is still running so valid cards are still needed to be used for going shopping or some appointments & will be needed for the other services as soon as lock down is relaxed on them, expired cards will be of no use so the extension would make it easier for all concerned.

Sure let's give this a wee bump for you.
I had a heck of a time getting my card, it actually took me nearly a full year. That's a good spot you had there!
