Nature conservation

Nature conservation work such as monitoring for protected species, invasive species and health of conservation areas are low risk activities. They should be one of the first activities to be released from lockdown to protect Scotland’s precious nature.

Why the contribution is important

Scotland is home to rare and important habitats and species. They are under threat and require constant monitoring and action. Protecting them is important because they contribute to the quality of our air, rivers, seas and soil, mitigate climate change, improve our physical and mental health and contribute to Scotland’s economy.
