Open all shops with the same restrictions as supermarkets

Open all shops with the restrictions that supermarkets are currently operating. Why should small businesses be excluded from operating, when the supermarkets are making huge profits (and obtaining rates relief amounting to about 200 million pounds in Scotland). These huge companies are even making money on gardening supplies and clothing when other businesses cannot open.

Why are supermarkets benefiting from 200 million pounds of rates relief when small businesses are going to the wall! Lets transfer the 200 million pounds to small businesses.

Why the contribution is important

Equality for all businesses, not just the big boys.

While this is not a bad idea the simple fact is that we need to eat so supermarkets are essential. From what I’ve seen the social behaviour ie patchy on many occasions. On other shops you might not think the same way. Do we need make up and cards and trinkets and more clothes? Doubt it. I think all the mixed messaging on masks (do we/don’t we?) is bad. Everyone should wear a mask. Not to protect themselves but to protect others. While the evidence may be patchy It is empirically the correct thing to do. It needs to be enforced as well. Very loose, miscommunicated policy right now

We can’t have lots of shops open whilst restricting daily exercise and working from home is still encouraged. Lots of shops open would encourage unnecessary journeys and the population mixing. Needs to be done is a careful, phased way.
