Open golf courses with restrictions

Golf courses could open with restrictions. Two balls maintaining social distancing. No raking of bunkers or removing flags. Keep club houses closed. No risk. If tv presenters can continue to socially distance in a tv studio then why no golf or tennis for that matter with restrictions.

Why the contribution is important

Good for mental health and exercise

if we also accept that we can have a small bubble of friends/family then the numbers could be increased to four as in general apart from the tee and green then players are usually separated more than 2m. Also, the fact they are known people it is easier to keep a track if they come into contact with a Covid case

Apart from the obvious mental health and exercise benefits. I think this would be a chance to get back a more ‘normal’ routine. Even though it would be limited. I fully support all the measures being taken at present and will follow the instructions.

Good thinking people. It is walking with a stick in fresh air - well usually I'm swiping at fresh air... This sport involves plenty of distancing and could be great for people's health. The clubhouse might need to be closed for now though or offer click and collect golf balls and shandy.

Agree that Golf can safely open with many physical and mental health benefits. My club had no flags or rakes in place prior to lockdown, while holes were sitting proud so was no need even to touch the hole. Socially distancing very straight forward. Agree no clubhouse makes sense. Just tee off and stay safe.

Totally agree with this. No reason why not, if all the above rules are followed.
