Open Hairdressers As soon as Possible

Given the strain on everyone during lockdown the main feel good factor For everyone would be to be able to make the journey to your local hairdresser or barber for a haircut.
This wouldn’t be difficult to manage and many of these small businesses are struggling it would benefit everyone.
Set some guidelines in a similar manner to Portugal & Spain and the way ahead can be straightforward.

Why the contribution is important

Being able to get your hair done is a great way of easing the mental health strain that everyone is under at the moment and this would bring back the feel good factor to everyone

I disagree with this idea Paul.
The hairdresser would have to wear full PPE otherwise they would be a huge viral spreader. It is nice to feel good with a new haircut but not essential. Vanity has a pause button for times like this.

The virus is on your breath and spreads with close contact like hairdressers. Medical PPE filter 99%.
Other masks filter close to zero. If the hairdresser gets it and passes it on to their clients, then they pass it on, there will certainly be some deaths.

Of course they would have to wear PPE and a lot mor PPE than shop assistants are wearing everyday but doesn’t stop people shopping does it?

Would it really be more dangerous than going to the supermarket? I'd argue it was less so if both people are wearing PPE. We need to learn to live with the virus. We need some perspective too. I live in Lothian where only around 2000 cases have been reported in total from a population of almost 1 million (source: BBC News website). How many patients have been admitted to the Louisa Jordan??? Biggest risk of anyone outside of a care home or hospital catching Covid is in the supermarket! Get some perspective and let us out to participate in activities where we can maintain social distancing and use PPE where necessary. Sweden had no lockdown at all and have far fewer cases than UK.
