Open Private Golf Courses

It appears to be paradoxical that we're seeing many members of the public patiently waiting in long queues complying with social distancing.
Why then aren't members of private golf clubs, who are used to complying with club rules, not allowed to play in wide open spaces maintaining far more than the minimum social distance.
Private golf courses should be allowed to reopen to members who are not displaying any symptoms only under the R&A proposal submission to the UK government.

Allowing small groups of 2 players at a time Should not cause any problems and keeping the club houses closed

Absolutely agree that private courses should be open in accordance with the R&A recommendations.
To ensure everyone gets a fair crack of the whip I would suggest that bookings should be limited to 9 holes only.

it sums up how crazy the current rules are that you can walk on a golf course but you cant play golf.

Can someone explain the huge risk that playing golf involves as opposed to walking ?

I completely agree but, as a member of a club, surely all courses should be opened. The health benefits are the same no matter which course is played and municipal courses are just as important as private ones. We all started on municipal courses, after all.
