Open recycling centres

A limit to some things that done during lockdown (eg gardening, clearing out the garage, etc) is the inability to dispose of material at the recycling centre since it is closed. Priority should be given to opening these centres with appropriate control to maintain social distancing.

Why the contribution is important

Without this increased fly tipping will continue by the unscrupulous while more conscientious people will remain frustrated.

Definitely open these recycling centres ASAP & reduce the flytipping. Keeping social distancing.

I think this is important - if recycling centres can be opened safely this should happen. My local authority don't recycle glass as part of refuge collection, and so this is becoming a storage issue. Recycling centres being closed also mean that fly tipping will increase, which has environmental and public safety impacts.

I assumed recycling centres were closed to support traffic calming during lockdown but if there are considerations to reduce lockdown, reopening refuse centres should hopefully be simple enough to introduce. They are outside and there is no need to have contact with anyone, general public or employees, at the centre.

This would be really helpful! Appointment only/time slots would help avoid massive traffic queues seen elsewhere on opening.

    Please open recycling centres.
