Open smaller stores gradually but keep chains with websites closed

I propose, in line with guidance such as social distancing within stores, that small independent retailers be able to open over time.
Larger companies with a strong online presence such Argos, Currys, Smyths and Next should keep their stores closed for longer and continue to trade solely online.

A simple search of said companies for trading reports results in statements such as follows;

Dixons Carphone (Currys) 26th March:
"In the 11 weeks from 5 January to 21 March, our Group Electricals LFL is +8%, which includes a strong recent uplift, with Electricals LFL sales growth running at +23% in the last three weeks....
Over the long-term, we do not expect disruption from COVID-19 to affect the transformation of the business and our ability to drive future value for our customers, our colleagues, our suppliers and our shareholders."

Opening larger chain stores that have successfully moved their sales fully online should remain so to limit personal interactions in high streets. They are not essential to have physical stores open.

Why the contribution is important

To minimise the potential spread of Covid-19 as high streets gradually open up again.

    I think this idea would benefit all
    Smaller stores have lesser numbers in and out and can personally manage tighter hygiene controls
    They also need the income more and are vital in small communities
