Outdoor Bowling

People should be allowed to participate in bowling - where appropriate measures have been put in place to allow games to take place.

Bowls Scotland as the sports governing body should be approached to agree a routemap to allow bowling greens to re-open. Similar to what is being suggested in the Republic of Ireland would be a good start.

Why the contribution is important

Bowling would give people an opportunity to improve their overall wellbeing and a form of exercise

This is a good idea, it would allow a section of the population to enjoy a bit of exercise, obviously as there is an element of elderly participants there would would have to be local guidance, and by default the "shielded" group would not be able to attend

I don’t believe the bowling green should be open until it safe to do so.

Better Option than setting the jack by foot would be for each player in a singles game having their own jack (most clubs have enough to allow this). Keep the jack in your pocket and use your one whenever you have to deliver one (opponent would keep their jack in their pocket while it wasn’t in use). This would remove the need to share any equipment, especially if the mat was permanently set at the 2 metre mark for the duration of the game.
