Outdoor exercise and activities

Allow people out more to exercise. Allow certain types of outdoor activities to resume ie. Fishing, golf. You have already stated people are less likely to transmit and catch covid-19 outdoors. Plus these certain sports and other activities are by their nature socially distancing anyway. Treat people with a bit more sense In this respect and people might not flout the lockdown more as they are doing now.

Why the contribution is important

I believe people need to be allowed out to do more because of the effect it has on mental health.

Completely agree. Make it clear social distancing is required. But allow us to walk the dog and take the kids to the park with a ball without feeling guilty.
(Granted, far easier to do in rural areas than cities, but setting rules appropriate to the area is another topic!

It would be a good start to allow households to take part in all forms of outdoor activity that don't require travel and don't require mixing with other households, this wouldn't be much of a change to current guidance.

It is time, we need this to happen.

Low risk outdoor exercise and activities carry very little risk of increasing R and CV 19 problems; but produce huge benefits to physical and mental health. Improved general health also boosts the efficacy of our immune systems which is highly beneficial during an infectious disease outbreak. So, I support the rapid opening up of this area of activity before the 28 May review. There is no good reason to keep us all indoors till then - and as well as the health benefits, outdoors activities give us something else to do whilst sports, hospitality and many jobs remain unavailable.
