Outdoor socialising in back gardens

As we come into summer maybe we can have situations where we can have small gatherings (2 families) in back gardens to have BBQs etc? This would be outdoors only and any trips inside to the toilet for example would be required to ensure hand sanitizer etc is used. This could also be restricted to one per week for example.

Why the contribution is important

More for the sanity of kids who are really experiencing strong feelings of separation and depression at an early age now. Also as a way to prevent the lockdown creating these feelings with adults as well.

would have to be in a very small social bubble. what happens when the second family go to a third family for a BBQ

This is an excellent suggestion. Children and young people are struggling desperately during the current restrictions. The consequences will be long lasting and far reaching. We need to create environments which allow families to interact.

As a recently widowed woman, I would welcome the ability to have visits from a couple of friends in the garden, properly distanced. It is very isolating to be all alone in a house with only the phone as a contact.

Absolutely essential as the better weather hopefully is coming. Families and groups of friends will welcome these opportunities whilst observing appropriate social distances which they can police themselves

Difficult to manage and it will increase risk, as nice as this would be what happens when one of the families then meets another family , this will cause confusion , guidelines need to be clear and simple to ensure a higher risk compliance.
