Outdoor Working not allowed (but shopping is)

Lockdown is not effective, after today's news that IKEA is reopening stores (DIY, coffee chains open in a lockdown) it seems that no-one is considering what can be open in a lockdown especially the Scottish Government who allow this to happen, but stop you from working, then go on about how serious things are at the daily briefing.

I am (reluctantly) on furlough, my job involves environmental monitoring of water courses, usually in remote areas of the country well away from roads and people, but for some reason the Scottish Government will not permit my employer to let me work even with risk assessment and PPE but will allow you to shop where the chance of infection is greater in enclosed spaces than working in a remote outdoor unpopulated areas. The Scottish Government would rather talk about middle class activities such as Golf and fishing when people's jobs and lively hoods are at risk unnecessarily.

Why the contribution is important

There is no consistancy of approach, people who can safely work outdoors should be permitted to do so, at present it is being blocked by the scottish government, who allow shopping in enclosed spaces within Supermarkets or DIY stores . The message being communicated is that DIY/retail activities are more important than outdoor workers jobs.
