Pavement walking

Pavement walking can be bad for our joints. In cities there is very limited local countryside. Parks are very busy and paths are paved and hard. There is limited grass to walk on and often grass has hidden dog's diet which is difficult to avoid. Effectively city residents are trapped with very limited walking and risks of inactivity and future arthritis. Please allow us to drive to the hills to walk safely and peacefully. Hillwalking is extremely beneficial to physical and mental health.

Why the contribution is important

Painful joints and poor mental health are linked to lack of opportunities to walk safely. Pavement or tarmacadamed path walking is extremely hard on joints. In cities currently this is often the only option for walkers.

Somewhere I've seen reports of a country where you send a text of your planned excursion to Big Brother. Text is only examined if you are suspected of breaching the guidelines.

This lets you go out, but without freedom to make a day of it, visiting shops, taking in a wee latte and using the toilet without PPE etc.

    I fully agree.

Sensible travel to take part in safe outdoor pursuits should be allowed for the mental health of us all.
