Play for children - in small groups

I support the relaxing of the lockdown by initially allowing children to play with a small number of close friends in their local area. This would help to reduce their frustration and that of parents. To make this work initially it would be suggested that a maximum number of children could play together, say 1 friend initially and still requiring social distancing from other folk, with this growing as the lockdown can be eased.

They could then to simple stuff like:
- meeting a friend to go for a walk.
- kicking a football in the street between each other
- play in garden

Families would be sensible as we've all been isolated for 6 weeks and so know we're not infected and the same with close friends so the risk would be minimal but would be physiologically beneficial to both kids and parents.

Why the contribution is important

Good for the mental and physical health of both children and parents while also being low risk.

I completely agree with this. My 12 year old is desperate to see his friends and yes, just an hour in the park or the street with a ball and one or two friends would make so much difference to their mental wellbeing. Facetime just isn't the same i'm afraid.
