Police more powers

Please give police more powers to stop cars and ask drivers if it's an essential journey, if not a verbal warning and the if it happens again name them and shame them.

Why the contribution is important

I feel we all have been very patient, understanding, and we all want to come out of this unprecedented time safe and well and yet people are not adhering to the rules.

Terrible idea! They have too much power already

I'd rather the Police were doing spot check on supermarkets to make sure they have proper procedures in place and that the staff are following them. THat will be much more effective than intimidating innocent people. We are in danger of becoming a Police state b y default.

They have neough powers and are completely failing in them anyway. They dont need more, they just need to start doing their job.

Agree with focusing more on supermarkets!

I don’t get this!! Where is the issue in spreading the virus if people stay in there car to drive? Certainly, if they go outside and don’t abide by social distancing but that’s not the issue

They have enough powers already. Not travelling to exercise is government advice, it is not the law. The vast majority of people are following the government's advice to the letter, I do not see a problem if a small minority want to drive a few miles to go on a local walk where they can socially distance. I am very disappointed in how judgemental and nasty some people have become.

Ridiculous idea, thankfully we do not live in a totalitarian state!
