Post code opening

Opening areas by postcode could mean that local businesses could be further open to local people who could then support their own community, still observing social distancing and taking all the advice precautions such as mask wearing. Proof of address could be provided by various means and businesses would need to check this before allowing the business to be used. It should be possible for Garden Centre’s and DIY centres to reopen relatively easily even without a postcode restriction restriction.
I fully support the creation of social bubbles. I am currently awaiting operation to replace two hips. I live on my own and it is very difficult for me to exercise. I am relatively young (60) and it would be a great advantage to allow some socialisation with family and friends.

Obviously I would also support reopening hospitals without Covid 19 patients to begin routine surgery.

Why the contribution is important

Opening up areas on a small basis builds up community support for those who have businesses in their own area but still restricts movement. Social distancing can still be enforced.
The coffee shop across the road from my property serves locals predominantly and could easily keep customers 6 feet apart, as could the local garden centre, decorating shop. If there was a spike of illness in the post code area it would be easy to tighten restrictions again .
