Practical safety measures for churches

Christians of all ages, from birth to the elderly, appreciate and need fellowship with each other. A visit to a church service would be no more risky than using a supermarket. Many ideas for keeping safe have been mentioned already. Additionally, one way systems for entering and leaving the church sanctuary could be considered to avoid congestion in narrower foyers. Churches could consider specific family services catering for the needs of children with children positioned alongside their parents (in the absence of Sunday School). Hand gel should be supplied on entry and facemasks worn by all whilst in the building.

Why the contribution is important

As mentioned above, Christians of all ages, from birth to the elderly, appreciate and need fellowship with each other. A church service would be no more risky than using the supermarket and is considered just as essential for those practising the Christian Faith. Whilst faith in Christ provides security and hope which takes away fear, Christians also have a responsibility to others and those in authority over us. Considering ways to allow churches to open their doors to worshippers safely is paramount.
