Pre recorded lessons for home learning

If the pupils are going to be learning part at school and part from home the lessons from home should be recorded by the teacher so the child can feel like it means something they relate better to taught lessons which could still be achievable if the teachers actually present when recording as it will be like being in the classroom.

Why the contribution is important

This, is based on my daughters experience from learning at home. There is no input from any of the teachers visually and all of the work is just, research self teaching. I help my daughter and guide her in the right direction but taught lessons online by the teachers would definitely help more.

Agreed. Ed Scotland should be required to open up the live streaming aspect of Google Meet and Teams within GLOW. Teachers and pupils are literally being held back by the argument that there is a ‘child protection’ issue at play. There is not. Write a protocol for live-streaming then trust teachers and students to use this technology for the best. Like all well-intentioned ideas it is doing more harm than good. Children are missing seeing friends and teachers and Scotland looks preposterous on the world technological stage.

Pre recorded lessons are a great idea but schools should not reopen any time soon

Good idea. Some parents are doing very little to help their kids sadly

Flipped classroom learning has been used in many schools for a number of years and could be a very good model for part time easing into school. Lesson is pre-recorded and watched at home (can then be researched, paused etc as pupil needs) In class time is spent with teacher working through examples and managing problems as they arise.

Improve online learning and factor it out to all schools. Teachers are engaging with their pupils.
