Promote Scottish produce

Ur farmers and fishermen are struggling with exports, and our manufacturing industries also. We need government support to redesign our economy so we consume our own produce and use our own manufactured items as far as possible. This will support our economy, and support the green agenda. This is not the time to do deals to increase imports , especially from distant countries

Why the contribution is important

Supports the economy and reduces transport miles

Absolutely. Let's endeavour to buy our own produce whenever possible. Fish, veg meat we have the best here

Local changes where I live (HIghlands) have meant that wee local businesses have gone more than the extra mile to adapt and many are providing delivery services of fresh local produce when the bigger tesco etc struggled for longer and is still very short of some 'necessities' such as flour. I agree that grow, shop, buy and eat local should be sustained whereever possible. It would be excellent for these wee businesses and remove some of our reliance on the giants.

I agree promote local produce as much as possible
Producing our own food has to be a top priority as we go forward

Scotland has some of the best produce in the world. Buy Scottish, you know its source, and it tastes great.

I've been buying mussels and potatoes all directly from Scottish producers that are being delivered right to my door. It has been the best thing to come out of the lockdown that I've discovered Scottish suppliers that I would never have found otherwise. Maybe more resources in getting from farm to plate for local suppliers, that aren't as tech savy?

Yes!! Allow local farmers to sell and promote produce at key areas eg train stations, bus terminals, city venues and reduce rents to allow them to do so. Local market stalls can work in conjunction with Public Health depts.
At the same time recruit people prepared to work locally on farms. Design transport systems to farms for workers to get to work where they don’t have cars to get there.

Supermarkets should stock local produce. eg strawberries were Spanish and beef was from Poland and Brazil in our local Tesco
