I am very concerned that there are many people who do not have ready access to the outdoors. For those of us who have walks nearby or gardens, the weather during lock down has been something of a godsend. However, for those stuck in accommodation with no access to even a garden, and especially those with your children and/or a high person density in the same place, it must have been a very difficult time. It must be possible to set aside areas of local parks and green spaces where people can get out and spend some time there. Up until now, these areas have been set as ‘for exercise only’ and people have been discouraged from stopping and enjoying the space. This needs to change so that people can legitimately sunbathe, just sit and enjoy the weather or have a family picnic while still maintaining personal distancing.

Why the contribution is important

To provide outdoors respite for people with no garden
Reduce mental health issues from being cooped up indoors
Provide a better childhood for young children
